Reuben Sandwich

Ingredients
  

  • 10 pieces Deli sliced pastrimi
  • 2 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1 bread Rye Bread
  • ¼ onion Onion
  • 1 cup Mayo
  • 2 tbsp Ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon Paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt
  • Dijon Mustard

Equipment

  • 1 Griddle
  • 1 Cutting Board
  • 1 Knife

Method
 

Thousand Island Dressing
  1. Dice up your onion as small as possible. It will be a little bit chunky
  2. Mix together the mayo, ketchup, lemon juice, paprika, salt and onion
  3. Stir until a nice consistency
  4. Refrigerate until needed
Sandwich
  1. Heat your griddle up and add some olive oil
  2. Sear your pastrimi for roughly 2 minutes per side (nothing crazy
  3. Add your pastrimi to a bowl and cover in dijon mustard
  4. Assemble your sandwich by spreading your thousand island dressing on both sides of the bread
  5. Add your mustard covered pastrimi to your bread
  6. Add your swiss cheese and make sure cheese is over hanging the sandwich
  7. Top with mayo
  8. Add the entire sandwich back to the griddle and close lid for 3 minutes per side
  9. Once nice and toasted slice in and enjoy :)
