Smashed burgers are a variation of the classic cheeseburger. The smashed burger is created by flattening the burger patty with a spatula before cooking it, which gives it its distinctive look.
The smashed burger is cooked to perfection by searing it on both sides before placing it in an oven or on a grill to finish cooking and get that signature crunchy exterior.
This recipe is for smashed burgers that are made with ground beef, but you can also use ground turkey or chicken if you prefer something lighter.
