Epic Chopped Italian Sub: The Recipe That Brings Rome Home

To begin with this recipe, you need to be prepared to bring Italy to your kitchen. Firstly, we start off with the best piece of bread you can find. Now, if you ask me, this is what makes a bad sub a good sub. Add all of your favorite Italian sliced meats and eat!

Now, I’ve only been to Italy once for my anniversary and I can easily tell you, the food over there is MUCH fresher than in the States. There are no additives in their food over there and it’s true that you can eat pasta all day long and not feel full.

Chopped Italian Sub Instructions

Now, just like most of my recipes, this is extremely simple. In fact, this one is probably the most simple recipe I’ve made. Plus, it’s one of the tastiest.

Start by dicing or rough chopping your onion. Now, I rough chopped these but I should have diced them. I enjoy diced onions much better than rough chopped but that’s all personal preference.

Then, for the hardest part. You need to decide what kind of deli meat you want to use. I used ham, salami and pepperoni for my Chopped Italian Sub however you can use whatever you want!

Next, add your cheese. Also feel free to mix and match here.

Then take the biggest knife you have and just start chopping!

In the end, it should look like this!

Furthermore, start adding your Italian seasoning as well. Do this to taste, whatever you feel comfortable with.

Now, add your banana peppers, mayo, minced garlic, and olive oil and begin to mix.

Pro tip: This would be a great time to add a little heat using hot sauce if you prefer

What is a typical Italian sandwich?

Italian sandwiches are an easy meal to impress the fam! Typically topped with Italian cured meats, provolone cheese, tomatoes, shredded iceberg lettuce, and picked peppers. Indeed, this is one to remember.

Yes, I had forgotten the tomatoes and lettuce 🙁 but that is okay!
